Vietnam Stock Widget (“the extension”) is a browser extension that displays near real-time Vietnamese stock prices in a small floating widget on the corner of the browser. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how.

Summary

The extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal user data. It does not use analytics, tracking, advertising, or any third-party data collection service. There is no account, no login, and no server operated by the developer.

Data the extension stores

The only data the extension stores is data you create yourself, kept inside your own browser via the Chrome storage API:

The list of stock symbols you add to your watchlist.
Display preferences: widget position, custom drag position, background opacity, collapsed/expanded state, and whether the widget is shown.
The refresh interval (in seconds).
The most recently fetched price quotes, cached for display.

This data is stored locally in your browser. If you have Chrome Sync enabled, your settings (such as your watchlist and preferences) may be synced across your own devices by Google Chrome. The developer has no access to this data.

Data sent to third parties

To show prices, the extension requests data from the following public, read-only financial data endpoints over HTTPS:

iboard-api.ssi.com.vn (SSI iBoard)
services.entrade.com.vn (DNSE / Entrade)
apipubaws.tcbs.com.vn (TCBS)
query1.finance.yahoo.com (Yahoo Finance)

These sources are used as fallbacks for reliability: if one is unavailable, the extension automatically tries the next.

The only information sent to these endpoints is the stock symbol needed to look up a price (for example, FPT). No personal data, no browsing history, and no information about the pages you visit is ever sent to these services. The developer does not receive any of this data.

Page access

The extension injects a small, self-contained widget into the corner of web pages so it can be shown while you browse. It does not read, collect, store, or modify the content of the pages you visit. Access to pages is used solely to display the widget overlay.

Permissions

storage — to save your watchlist and display preferences.
alarms — to periodically refresh prices and keep the data up to date.
host permissions (the financial endpoints listed above) — to fetch stock price data.

Data selling and transfer

The developer does not sell or transfer user data to third parties. The extension does not use or transfer data for purposes unrelated to its single purpose, and does not use data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

Children’s privacy

The extension is a general-purpose financial information tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect any data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at the same location with a new “Last updated” date.
